No 7 seed Matteo Arnaldi won against Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 7-6 (5) to move into the quarter-finals of the Croatia Open at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag.
Arnaldi, ranked No 76, will play the winner of the match between top seed Jiri Lehecka and Austrian Dominic Thiem next.
In the previous round of the Umag tournament, Matteo Arnaldi defeated Dutch qualifier Jesper De Jong (6-3, 6-2).
Cobolli, ranked No 148, won against Croat Marin Čilić (6-4, 6-3) during the first round of the Umag tournament.
