Croatia Open: Sonego moves into last eight

Italian Lorenzo Sonego defeated Frenchman Alexandre Muller 7-5, 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Croatia Open at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Wednesday afternoon.
Sonego, ranked No 54, will play Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, next.
The Italian edged out Croat wildcard Mili Poljicak (6-2, 6-7 (1), 7-6 (9)) in the previous round of the Umag tournament.
During the first round of the Umag tournament, Muller, ranked No 102, won against Italian Matteo Arnaldi, the No 8 seed (7-6 (8), 6-4).
