American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, won against Ecuadorian Emilio Gomez 6-4, 6-3 to reach the quarter-finals of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center on Friday night.
Fritz, ranked No 7, will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino next.
In the previous round of the Delray Beach tournament, Gomez, ranked No 94, defeated qualifier Tung-lin Wu (7-6 (3), 6-4).
