No 4 seed Novak Djokovic and No 24 seed Sebastian Korda will not play their quarter-final on Wednesday evening at the Miami Masters, with the match postponed until Thursday instead.

Five matches were scheduled for the main Hard Rock Stadium court on Wednesday, with three of the four going the distance and the fourth match – between Jessica Pegula and Emma Raducanu – finishing at 11:30pm.

As of 2025, the ATP and WTA Tours have new regulations around match start times, deeming that new matches cannot begin after 11pm without specific approval from an ATP/WTA supervisor in consultation with ATP/WTA management. Complaints over late matches are also part of the PTPA’s ongoing lawsuit against tennis’ governing bodies.

Because of this, Djokovic v Korda could not start on Wednesday.

The match has been shifted to third on Thursday instead, with the new order of play as follows:

  • 1pm – Arthur Fils v Jakub Mensik
  • NB 3pm – Aryna Sabalenka v Jasmine Paolini, then Novak Djokovic v Sebastian Korda
  • NB 7pm – Taylor Fritz v Matteo Berrettini
  • NB 8:30pm – Alexandra Eala v Jessica Pegula
