Dubai Open: Halys advances to semi-finals

French qualifier Quentin Halys edged out Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) to reach the last four of the Dubai Open at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Thursday.
Halys, ranked No 77, will play Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime next.
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman edged out Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)) and won against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (7-6 (5), 6-4).
Nardi, ranked No 79, defeated Hungarian qualifier Marton Fucsovics (1-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Belgian Zizou Bergs (6-4, 7-6 (3)) earlier in the tournament.
