Dutch Open: Defending champ Mannarino wins eighth match in a row to reach Rosmalen semis

Adrian Mannarino edged out Brandon Nakashima in three sets to set up a semi-final clash against either Daniil Medvedev or Ilya Ivashka

France’s Adrian Mannarino edged out American Brandon Nakashima 6-7 [5], 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Dutch Open at the Autotron Rosmalen on Friday.

The left-handed Mannarino, ranked No 70 in the world is the defending champion this week , having won the title in 2019 when the tournament was last held. He has now won eight matches in a row at the ATP 250 event. He will play either top seed Daniil Medvedev, of Russia, or Ilya Ivashka, of Belarus, in the last four. It also marks his first semi-final on the tour since June 2021.

This was the first set that Mannarino had lost this week, after scoring straight sets wins over Italian qualifier Andreas Seppi (7-6 [4], 7-6 [9]) and Australian Alex De Minaur (6-2, 6-3) in the earlier rounds.
