American J.J. Wolf advanced to the last eight of the Eastbourne Open by winning against French qualifier Luca Van Assche 6-2, 6-7 (5), 6-1 at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club.
Wolf, ranked No 46, will play the winner of the match between Argentinian Sebastian Baez and American Tommy Paul, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, the American defeated Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed (6-2, 6-4).
Van Assche, ranked No 79, edged out wildcard George Loffhagen (2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4)) in the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament.
