Eastbourne Open: Ymer knocks out home hope Broady to reach quarter-finals

Mikael Ymer won against Liam Broady 6-2, 6-4 and will play the winner of the match between top seed Taylor Fritz and Mackenzie McDonald in the next round

Swede Mikael Ymer won against wildcard Liam Broady 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park LAwn Tennis Club.

Ymer, ranked No 61, will play the winner of the match between top seed Taylor Fritz and Mackenzie McDonald next.

The Swede beat Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 9 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, Broady, ranked No 147, won against lucky loser Jan Choinski (6-3, 6-4).
