German qualifier Yannick Hanfmann edged out Argentinian Sebastian Baez, the second seed, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals of the Generali Open at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Wednesday.
Hanfmann, ranked No 141, will play Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the 33-year-old German won against Austrian wildcard Lukas Neumayer (7-5, 6-2).
