Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 6 seed, won against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the last eight of the Geneva Open at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Wednesday afternoon.

Hurkacz, ranked No 31, will play American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, next.

The Pole defeated French wildcard Arthur Cazaux (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.

In the previous round of the Geneva tournament, Rinderknech, ranked No 72, won against Serb Miomir Kecmanovic (6-4, 6-2).
