No 4 seed Maxime Cressy moved into the semi-finals of the Hall of Fame Open by edging out Steve Johnson 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Thursday evening.
Cressy, ranked No 41, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, the No 5 seed, and American John Isner, the second seed, next.
In the previous round of the Hall of Fame Open, Maxime Cressy beat qualifier Mitchell Krueger (6-3, 6-4).
Johnson, ranked No 95, won against Stefan Kozlov (7-5, 6-3) and Czech Jiri Vesely, the No 7 seed (W/O) earlier in the tournament.
