Halle: Sinner fights back from set down against Sonego to reach quarter-finals

No 4 seed Jannik Sinner moved into the quarter-finals of Halle by edging out fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4 at the Owl Arena/Gerry-Weber-Stadion.

Sinner, ranked No 9, will face the winner of the match between Kazakh Alexander Bublik and German Jan-Lennard Struff next.

Ahead of his victory, Jannik Sinner beat Frenchman Richard Gasquet (6-3, 5-7, 6-2).

Sonego, ranked No 39, won against Russian lucky loser Aslan Karatsev (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) in the previous round of the Halle Open.
