Hamburg Open: Darderi reaches quarter-finals

Italian Luciano Darderi won against American Brandon Nakashima, the No 7 seed, 7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-2 to advance to the last eight of the Hamburg Open at Tennis Stadion on Wednesday afternoon.
Darderi, ranked No 45, will face Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed, next.
The Italian defeated German wildcard Diego Dedura-Palomero (6-1, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Hamburg tournament, Nakashima, ranked No 29, benefited from the abandonment of Belgian qualifier Raphael Collignon (6-5).
