Hong Kong Open: Rublev saves 13 break points en route to final

Andrey Rublev defeated Juncheng Shang 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday and will play Finn Emil Ruusuvuori for the title

Russian Andrey Rublev, the top seed, moved into the final of the Hong Kong Open by winning against Chinese wildcard Juncheng Shang 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium on Saturday.

Rublev, ranked No 5, will face Finn Emil Ruusuvuori next.

The Russian defeated qualifier Liam Broady (6-4, 7-6 (8)) and Frenchman Arthur Fils, the No 8 seed (6-4, 1-6, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.

In the previous rounds of the Hong Kong tournament, Shang, ranked No 183, beat Serb Laslo Djere, the No 7 seed (6-7 (5), 6-3, 7-6 (8)), Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 7-6 (2)) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 3 seed (6-4, 6-4).
