Italian Lorenzo Sonego advanced to the second round of the Hong Kong Open by defeating American Brandon Nakashima, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (4), 6-3 at the Victoria Park Tennis Centre on Monday night.
Sonego, ranked No 53, will face Cameron Norrie next.
