Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed, won against Chinese wildcard Yibing Wu 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 to reach the last eight of the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open on Wednesday.
Rublev, ranked No 16, will face Portuguese Nuno Borges, the No 8 seed, next.
In the previous round, Wu, ranked No 179, defeated Hungarian Fabian Marozsan (6-4, 6-2).
