Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 5 seed, won against Argentinian Thiago Agustin Tirante 6-2, 6-1 to move into the last eight of the Los Cabos Open at the Cabo del Mar Sports Center on Thursday night.
De Minaur, ranked No 19, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves and American Tommy Paul, the No 3 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Los Cabos tournament, the Australian beat Tunisian qualifier Skander Mansouri (6-4, 6-4).
Tirante, ranked No 136, won against Chilean qualifier Gonzalo Lama (7-6 (3), 6-2) in the previous round of the Los Cabos tournament.
