Madrid Masters: Draper into last 16 as Berrettini quits after a set

No 5 seed Jack Draper advanced to the last 16 of the Madrid Masters when Italian Matteo Berrettini, the No 30 seed, retired at the Caja Mágica on Tuesday.
Draper, ranked No 6, led 7-6 (2) when Berrettini, ranked No 31, pulled out on Tuesday afternoon at the Caja Mágica, having struggled with a stomach injury at the end of his previous match.
Jack Draper will play American Tommy Paul, the No 11 seed, next.
Draper won against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (6-3, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, the Italian defeated American Marcos Giron (6-7 (3), 7-6 (6), 6-1).
