Madrid Masters: Lucky loser Diallo moves into last 16

Canadian lucky loser Gabriel Diallo edged out Cameron Norrie 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last 16 of the Madrid Masters at the Caja Mágica on Tuesday afternoon.

Diallo, ranked No 78, will play Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, the No 15 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Canadian beat Belgian Zizou Bergs (6-1, 6-2) and edged out Pole lucky loser Kamil Majchrzak (7-5, 4-6, 6-4).

Norrie, ranked No 91, edged out Spanish wildcard Martin Landaluce (6-7 (4), 7-5, 6-4) and won against No 26 seed Jiri Lehecka (2-6, 6-4, 6-0) earlier in the tournament.
