Frenchman Corentin Moutet advanced to the last 4 of the Mallorca Open by defeating American Learner Tien 6-2, 7-5 at Mallorca Country Club on Thursday.
Moutet, ranked No 83, will face the winner of the match between American Alex Michelsen, the No 3 seed, and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 7 seed, next.
In the previous rounds of the Mallorca tournament, the Frenchman won against Spaniard Pedro Martinez Portero (4-6, 6-3, 6-0) and German Daniel Altmaier, the No 8 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (3)).
Tien, ranked No 67, beat German wildcard Justin Engel (6-4, 6-4) and top seed Ben Shelton (6-4, 7-6 (2)) earlier in the tournament.
