Mallorca Open: Moutet upsets Spain’s Carballes Baena, books spot in quarter-finals

Frenchman Corentin Moutet advanced to the quarter-finals of the Mallorca Open by winning against Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 7-6 (4) at Mallorca Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Moutet, ranked No 80, will face Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 4 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Mallorca tournament, the Frenchman beat Australian Christopher O’Connell (7-5, 6-4).
Carballes Baena, ranked No 53, defeated Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) in the first round of the Mallorca tournament.
