Marrakech Open: Kotov upsets Bonzi to reach last eight, meets O’Connell next

Russian Pavel Kotov won against Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, the No 7 seed, 6-0, 7-6 (2) to reach the last eight of the Marrakech Open at the Royal Tennis Club de Marrakech on Thursday.
Kotov, ranked No 114, will play Australian Christopher O’Connell next.
Ahead of his victory, the Russian edged out Spaniard Pedro Martinez (6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (5)).
Bonzi, ranked No 50, defeated Russian lucky loser Alexey Vatutin (6-3, 6-3) in the previous round of the Moroccan Open.
