Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the second seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Marseille Open by defeating Kazakh Alexander Bublik 7-6 (7), 6-4 at the Palais des sports on Wednesday evening.
Humbert, ranked No 17, will face Italian Lorenzo Sonego, the No 7 seed, next.
Bublik, ranked No 48, won against French wildcard Richard Gasquet (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Marseille tournament.
