Spanish qualifier Pablo Llamas Ruiz advanced to the second round of the Montpellier Open by winning against Frenchman Richard Gasquet 7-6 (6), 7-5 at the Sud de France Arena.
Llamas Ruiz, ranked No 156, will face top seed Holger Rune next.
