Montreal Masters: 5th seed Rublev moves past tricky Etcheverry

Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, beat Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-6 (3), 6-2 to move into the last 16 of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Thursday. 

Rublev, who has been short on match wins recently, will play qualifier Brandon Nakashima next. The American upset Tommy Paul in his previous match.

In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, Etcheverry, ranked No 38, won against Chilean Nicolas Jarry (7-6 (5), 6-7 (5), 6-2).
