Ruud rallies past Bautista Agut in Montreal

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 4 seed, edged out Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 14 seed, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-4 to move into the last eight of the Montreal Masters at Stade IGA on Thursday evening.

Ruud, ranked No 7, will play the winner of the match between No 9 seed Cameron Norrie and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 6 seed, next.

The Norwegian defeated Slovak Alex Molcan (7-6 (3), 6-3) in the previous round of the Coupe Rogers.

In the previous rounds of the Coupe Rogers, Bautista Agut, ranked No 18, won against American qualifier Marcos Giron (7-6 (5), 6-3) and American Jenson Brooksby (7-5, 6-1).
