Munich Open: Cerundolo moves into last eight

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 5 seed, moved into the last eight of the Munich Open by winning against Kazakh lucky loser Alexander Shevchenko 6-3, 6-2 at the MTTC Iphitos complex on Thursday afternoon.

Cerundolo, ranked No 22, will play Belgian David Goffin next.

The Argentinian beat German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-0, 6-2) in the previous round of the Munich tournament.

In the previous round of the Munich tournament, Shevchenko, ranked No 104, edged out Italian Flavio Cobolli (6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-4).
