Paris Masters: Altmaier defeats home hope Fils, through to third round after Fritz withdrawal

German Daniel Altmaier advanced to the second round of Paris Masters by winning against Frenchman Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4 at the Accor Arena on Tuesday afternoon.

Altmaier, ranked No 54, gets a bye as Taylor Fritz, the No 9 seed, has withdrawn from the tournament.
