Dutch qualifier Botic van de Zandschulp beat American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of Paris Masters at the Accor Arena on Wednesday.

Van de Zandschulp, ranked No 60, will play Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, next.

Ahead of his victory, the Dutchman won against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino (6-4, 7-5).

Paul, ranked No 12, edged out French wildcard Richard Gasquet (0-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6)) in the previous round of the Paris-Bercy tournament.
