Qatar Open: Ruusuvuori makes quarter-finals

Finn Emil Ruusuvuori advanced to the last eight of the Qatar Open by winning against Australian Christopher O’Connell 6-3, 6-3 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Wednesday.
Ruusuvuori, ranked No 43, will face Russian Karen Khachanov, the second seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the Finn beat Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri (7-6 (2), 7-5).
O’Connell, ranked No 65, defeated German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-4) in the previous round of the Doha tournament.
