Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 8 seed, reached the second round of the Qatar Open by beating Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 6-2, 7-5 at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday afternoon.
Van De Zandschulp, ranked No 34, will play the winner of the match between Georgian lucky loser Nikoloz Basilashvili and French qualifier Alexandre Muller next.
