Queen’s: Krajinovic makes semi-finals, ends Peniston’s dream run

Serb Filip Krajinovic reached the last four of Queen’s by defeating wildcard Ryan Peniston 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 at Queen’s Club in London on Friday.

Krajinovic, ranked No 48, will face the winner of the match between Finnish qualifier Emil Ruusuvuori and Croat Marin Cilic, the No 7 seed, next.

In the previous rounds of the Queen’s Championships, the Serb won against American Jenson Brooksby (6-4, 6-3) and edged out American qualifier Sam Querrey (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).

Peniston, ranked No 180, beat Norwegian Casper Ruud, the top seed (7-6 (4), 7-6 (2)) and edged out Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (6-0, 4-6, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
