Rio Open: Lajovic sees off Djere to reach quarter-finals

Dusan Lajovic won against No 6 seed Laslo Djere 6-2, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the Rio Open at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday evening.

Lajovic, ranked No 58, will face Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, next.

Dusan Lajovic beat Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-1) in the previous round of the Rio tournament.

In the previous round of the Rio tournament, Djere, ranked No 35, won against Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles (6-3, 6-1).
