Rome Masters: Tommy Paul first winner of the day

American Tommy Paul, the No 11 seed, advanced to the third round of the Rome Masters by winning against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1, 6-4 at the Foro Italico in Rome on Saturday.

Paul, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between American Learner Tien and No 19 seed Tomas Machac next.

Bautista Agut, ranked No 56, had defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round of the Italian Open.
