Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko reached the second round of the Rotterdam Open by beating Chinese Zhizhen Zhang 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the Rotterdam Ahoy.
Shevchenko, ranked No 57, will play the winner of the match between Russian Roman Safiullin and Dane Holger Rune, the No 3 seed, next.
