Rublev to fall out of top 10 for first time since 2022 after Bublik defeat in Madrid
Alexander Bublik edged out Andrey Rublev 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 on Sunday and will play the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton, the No 12 seed, and No 22 seed Jakub Mensik in the next round

Andrey Rublev will fall out of the world’s top 10 for the first time since August 2022 after the defence of his Madrid Masters title ended with a 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 defeat by Alexander Bublik in the third round on Sunday.
Bublik, ranked No 75, will play the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton, the No 12 seed, and No 22 seed Jakub Mensik next.
The Kazakh won against American Alex Michelsen (7-6 (2), 7-6 (4)) and Australian Alexei Popyrin, the No 25 seed (6-4, 7-6 (4)) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Madrid tournament, Rublev, ranked No 8, benefited from the forfeit of Frenchman Gael Monfils.
