San Diego Open: Lestienne, 30, into quarter-finals for the first time of his career

Constant Lestienne won against Alejandro Tabilo 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday night. He’ll play the winner of the match between top seed Daniel Evans and Japanese Taro Daniel in the next round

Frenchman Constant Lestienne won against Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, the No 6 seed, 6-1, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Centre on Thursday night.

Lestienne, ranked No 76, will play the winner of the match between top seed Daniel Evans and Japanese Taro Daniel next.

The Frenchman will play the first quarter-final of his career at the ATP Tour level. He defeated American wildcard Brandon Holt (5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-3) ahead of his victory.
