Sofia Open: Wildcard Ilkel upsets Purcell to make quarter-finals
Cem Ilkel edged out Max Purcell 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. He’ll face the winner of the match between Lorenzo Musetti, the top seed, and Jack Draper in the next round

Wildcard Cem Ilkel edged out Australian Max Purcell, the No 6 seed, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 to reach the last eight of the Sofia Open.
Ilkel, ranked No 259, will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the top seed, and Jack Draper next.
Cem Ilkel won against Bulgarian wildcard Dimitar Kuzmanov (6-0, 6-3) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round, Purcell, ranked No 45, defeated Rinky Hijikata (6-3, 6-3).
