Frenchman Ugo Humbert beat American Sebastian Korda 6-3, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Swiss Indoors at the St. Jakobshalle. in Basel on Wednesday.

Humbert, ranked No 24 and Stockholm runner-up last week, will play the winner of the match between American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, and Monégasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot, Shanghai Masters 1000 winner, next.
