Toronto Masters: Paul found a way through Cerundolo
Tommy Paul defeated Francisco Cerundolo (7-6 (2), 6-7 (2), 6-3) on Wednesday.

American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed, won against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo in three tight sets (7-6 (2), 6-7 (2), 6-3) to move into the last 16 of the Toronto Masters 1000 on Wednesday.
Paul, ranked No 14, will now play against qualifier Marcos Giron who edged out Dane Holger Rune, the No 5 seed.
The American had beaten Argentinian qualifier Diego Schwartzman (6-3, 3-6, 6-4) in the previous round. Cerundolo, ranked No 22, defeated Canadian wildcard Alexis Galarneau (6-2, 4-6, 6-4).
