Bonzi sets up Winston-Salem quarter-final clash against van de Zandschulp
Benjamin Bonzi won against Thiago Monteiro 7-5, 6-2 on Thursday night and will face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the second seed, in the next round
Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi, the No 10 seed, beat Brazilian Thiago Monteiro 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the last 8 of the Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
Bonzi, ranked No 50, will play Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the second seed, next.
The Frenchman won against Kyle Edmund (6-4, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round of the Winston-Salem.
In the previous rounds of the Winston-Salem, Monteiro, ranked No 67, won against American Denis Kudla (7-6 (1), 7-5) and Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-1).
