France’s Gasquet shocked by Czech Machac in opening Davis Cup clash
A 21-year-old debutant surprised a veteran Frenchman in the first match of the weekend in Innsbruck

Veteran Richard Gasquet was stunned on Thursday in the opening match of France’s Davis Cup Finals clash with Czech Republic, beaten 7-6(3), 6-2 by 21-year-old Tomas Machac.
His 35-year-old opponent racked up the unforced errors, and debutant Machac finished in impressive style sending down a huge ace.
It was the first match of the weekend in Innsbruck, hosting Group C which also includes Great Britain.
