A pair of legends recorded impressive victories on Wednesday, and when they were done they traded compliments on social media.
Andy Murray, who defeated Alexander Zverev in a three hour and three-minute battle at Doha, took to Twitter to share his feelings on the incredible form of Iga Swiatek.
His words? Unlike his last four victories, all of which could be considered “epic”, Murray’s praise was short and sweet: “She is different.”
Swiatek, who blitzed Liudmila Samsonova in round of 16 action at Dubai on Wednesday, 6-1, 6-0, quickly replied.
“And you are a resilience role model and an inspiration on so many levels,” the world No 1 tweeted. “Thank you for everything that you do for this sport.”
