Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 5 seed, moved into the semi-finals of Roland-Garros by winning against Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 13 seed, 6-1, 7-5 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Tuesday.
Swiatek, ranked No 5, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, next.
The Pole beat Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (6-3, 6-3), Emma Raducanu (6-1, 6-2), Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-2, 7-5) and Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 12 seed (1-6, 6-3, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Svitolina, ranked No 14, defeated Zeynep Sonmez (6-1, 6-1), Hungarian Anna Bondar (7-6 (4), 7-5), American Bernarda Pera (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)) and Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 4 seed (4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-1).
