Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, beat Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 5 seed, 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-0 to move into the final of Roland-Garros on Thursday afternoon.
Sabalenka, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between French wildcard Lois Boisson and American Coco Gauff, the second seed, next.
For her first journey to the French Open final, the Belarusian won against Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (6-1, 6-0), Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-3, 6-1), Serb Olga Danilovic (6-2, 6-3), American Amanda Anisimova, the No 16 seed (7-5, 6-3) and Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 8 seed (7-6 (3), 6-3).
Swiatek, ranked No 5, defeated Slovak Rebecca Sramkova (6-3, 6-3), Emma Raducanu (6-1, 6-2), Romanian Jaqueline Cristian (6-2, 7-5), Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 12 seed (1-6, 6-3, 7-5) and Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, the No 13 seed (6-1, 7-5) in the previous rounds, reaching a total of 26 consecutive wins.
