French wildcard Lois Boisson advanced to the semi-finals of Roland-Garros by beating Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (6), 6-3 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday.
Boisson, ranked No 361, will play second seed Coco Gauff next.
The 22-year-old Frenchman is having an unprecedented run at the French open, winning against Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 24 seed (6-4, 4-6, 6-3), Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina (6-1, 6-2), wildcard Elsa Jacquemot (6-3, 0-6, 7-5) and American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds.
Andreeva, ranked No 6, won against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (6-4, 6-3), American Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 6-4), Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 32 seed (6-3, 6-1) and Australian Daria Kasatkina, the No 17 seed (6-3, 7-5).
