Novak Djokovic was kept from watching the Champions League final due to the Roland-Garros schedule. But the Serbian didn’t want to linger too long on Court Philippe-Chatrier and wrapped up his match before the football game ended, dominating Austrian qualifier Filip Misolic in straight sets (6-3, 6-4, 6-2).

Novak Djokovic has registered his 99th win in Men’s Singles at Roland Garros, equalling his most wins at a single ATP-level tournament in his career (99 – Australian Open).

The Serbian has also managed the round of 16 in at least two Grand Slam Men’s Singles event across 20 seasons, the most along with Roger Federer during the Open Era

Proof of his dominance, the Serbian created 16 break points and converted 4 of them to seal a comfortable and controlled victory. On the other side of the net, the Austrian managed just one break point—in the second set—which Djokovic quickly erased.

99 wins is good, but 100 is better!

“First night session for me—it wasn’t easy. I was hoping not to finish too late tonight, not like against Musetti last year. 99 wins is good, but 100 is better! I’m lucky to be playing for history every time,” Djokovic said.

Novak Djokovic now has a date with Cameron Norrie on Monday in the Round of 16 at Roland-Garros.

Ahead of his victory, the 38-year-old Serb won against American Mackenzie McDonald (6-3, 6-3, 6-3) and Frenchman Corentin Moutet (6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (1)).

Misolic, ranked No 153, beat Chinese Yunchaokete Bu (5-7, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4), 6-1) and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, the No 27 seed (7-6 (5), 7-6 (6), 4-6, 4-6, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
