Roland-Garros: Keys eases past compatriot Baptiste to book spot in quarter-finals
Madison Keys won against Hailey Baptiste 6-3, 7-5 on Monday. She’ll play American Coco Gauff, the second seed, in the next round

Madison Keys moved into the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros by beating Hailey Baptiste 6-3, 7-5.
It was a relatively straightforward afternoon for the Australian Open champion, who broke three times in total while being broken only once in reply.
It is the third Roland-Garros quarter-final of Keys’ career, as she looks to back up her maiden major triumph in Melbourne at the beginning of the year with a first clay-court Grand Slam title in Paris.
Keys, ranked No 8, will face fellow American Coco Gauff, the second seed, in the last eight.
Madison Keys won against Australian qualifier Daria Saville (6-2, 6-1), Katie Boulter (6-1, 6-3) and No 31 seed Sofia Kenin (4-6, 6-3, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Baptiste, ranked No 70, won against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 23 seed (4-6, 6-3, 6-1), Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino (6-3, 6-2) and Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro (7-6 (4), 6-1).
