Roland-Garros: Third seed Pegula books spot in third round after Giorgi retirement

American Jessica Pegula, the No 3 seed, moved into the third round of Roland-Garros when Italian Camila Giorgi retired on Wednesday at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.
Pegula, ranked No 3, led 6-2 when Giorgi, ranked No 37, pulled out on Wednesday at Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.
The American will play the winner of the match between Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 28 seed, and Colombian lucky loser Camila Osorio next.
Jessica Pegula won against Danielle Collins (6-4, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the French Open, the Italian defeated Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (6-3, 6-4).
