Roland-Garros: Sabalenka advances to third round

Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the top seed, advanced to the third round of Roland-Garros by winning against Swiss Jil Teichmann 6-3, 6-1 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Wednesday evening.
The world No 1 came back from a relatively low start, winning 11 of the final 12 games to clinch a 31st straight-set win in 2025 – more than any other WTA player.
“She started the match very well, she’s difficult to play against, I tried to find my rhythm and I managed to get back into the game,” stated Sabalenka, during her on-court interview.
“It was a very complicated match despite what the score might suggest, I’m happy to have won today.”
Sabalenka, ranked No 1, will play Serb Olga Danilovic next.
The Belarusian beat Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (6-1, 6-0) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Teichmann, ranked No 97, won against Italian qualifier Lucrezia Stefanini (6-4, 6-4).
